Open Call for Applications: Art-icon Exhibition "Faces" in Arles 2025

Exhibition Dates: July 4th – 15th, 2025

Art-icon, a non-profit organization dedicated to supporting emerging talent in the visual arts, invites photographers and artists to take part in the upcoming exhibition "Faces" in Arles, France. Our mission is to offer fresh perspectives in contemporary art by presenting compelling, innovative works from both rising and established creators.

Exhibition Highlights

The "Faces" exhibition will take place in the most central location of Arles, in a highly visible public space during the opening week of the annual Arles Photography Festival — one of the most important and internationally recognized photography events in the world. The festival attracts 15,000–20,000 photography professionals each year, including collectors, curators, gallerists, and art critics. These visitors are guaranteed to see the exhibition as they explore the city’s central areas.

With the support of the City Hall of Arles, the exhibition will feature large-scale photographic portraits printed at a minimum height of 2 meters, each accompanied by a QR code allowing direct access to information about the work and its author.

The exhibition will include both:
‍
- portraits of internationally renowned celebrities,
- andfrontal portraits and headshots by contemporary artists and photographers selected through this open call.

Participation Terms

Each selected participant will be asked to contribute a production fee, which covers:

- professional printing and preparation of the exhibited work,
- mounting and display materials,
- and general organizational costs of the project.

After the exhibition, the printed work remains the property of the artist and can be picked up or shipped upon request.
In the event of a sale, 100% of the proceeds go to the participant — Art-icon does not take any commission.

Submission Guidelines

Who can apply?
‍This open call is open to photographers and artists of all backgrounds, ages, and experience levels whose work focuses on frontal portraits or headshots. We strongly encourage diversity in style, culture, and perspective.

Each participant may send up to 6 low-resolution images (please do not use external file transfer services such as WeTransfer or Google Drive).
