OPEN CALL
Open Call for Applications:
Contemporary Art & Photography Exhibition
Paris, 26–28 May 2026
During Paris Art Week
Art-Icon, a non-profit organization supporting contemporary visual art, invites photographers and visual artists to apply for the international exhibition LOVE, taking place in Paris during one of the most dynamic periods of the city’s art season.
Exhibition Concept
Love is one of the most powerful and enduring images in visual culture. The kiss.
The embrace.
The gesture of tenderness.
These moments are not only intimate experiences — they are also visual symbols that circulate through cinema, advertising, social media, and art history. Reproduced across generations, they shape how we imagine intimacy, desire, connection, and closeness.
The exhibition LOVE explores love as both an emotional reality and a constructed image. We invite artists to reflect on how love is represented, staged, mediated, remembered, idealized, or transformed in contemporary visual culture.
Where does authenticity begin?
Where does performance enter?
How does tenderness survive in an age of hyper-visibility?
What We Are Looking For
We welcome photographic works that engage with themes of:
-Kisses
-Embraces
-Physical and emotional intimacy
-Vulnerability and closeness
-Romantic, familial, platonic, or unexpected forms of love
-The tension between private emotion and public image
Both documentary and staged practices are welcome, as well as conceptual, fashion-oriented, or mixed-media approaches rooted in photography.
We are interested in works that approach love with depth, subtlety, irony, sincerity, or critical reflection — expanding the visual language of intimacy today.
Context
The exhibition will take place in Paris during Paris Art Week, positioning the project within an active international cultural moment. Selected artists will exhibit alongside internationally recognized contemporary artists.
The project aims to create a dialogue between emerging and established voices, presenting diverse perspectives on how love is experienced and visualized in our time.
